EWI is an insulation system that prevents heat from escaping through walls by creating a barrier. This barrier is attached to the outside of the walls in several layers.
The components of EWI include:
- An insulation layer made of materials that prevent heat from escaping through walls and attached to the building using self-tapping screws.
- A primer that waterproofs the system and acts as a barrier to moisture, with some primers having inherent insulation properties.
- A glass fiber mesh and fixing anchor are used to hold the primer in place while it dries, with another layer of primer applied over it.
- A rendered finish enhances the appearance of the building, with different colors available.
